Live Poker: Pros and Cons of Participating in a Tournament
If you have had enough of playing poker with friends or with playing it online and winning some money and then losing some money to only win that money back again, then you have reached the stage in your poker playing experience where you need to start entering live tournaments. Internet Shopping Up Again!
Shopping on the internet has been increasing every year over the last five years, a new survey predicts another busy year for internet shopping in the UK. According to the results of an online survey of 3,012 shoppers by PriceGrabber.com, this Christmas shopping season promises to be the busiest yet for internet shopping.

- The average shopper will spend GBP 768 on their Christmas goodies, of which 50% will be purchased online (hmm...sounds rather high!)
- 93% of respondents expect to do more online shopping this year than last year, citing a growing dislike of stressful high street Christmas shopping and soaring petrol prices as two of the main reasons behind this move.
- Comfort and satisfaction with the online experience has also increased dramatically and 88% stated they would spend substantial time researching products and prices online before making offline purchases.
- Over 50% of those surveyed will have started their Christmas shopping by November 1st, with 40.1% having already started by early October. But despite this "pre-planning" mentality, 75% of respondents expect that they will still be buying gifts as late as five days before Christmas.
The top 3 reasons shoppers are most likely to buy their Christmas gifts online:
1. Convenience - eliminate hassle of driving/parking/crowds (36%)
2. Flexibility - shop 24 hours of the day (33%)
3. Finding low prices (19%)
The top 3 things shoppers dislike about shopping for gifts on the high street:
1. Waiting in lines (30%)
2. Finding the right selection of gifts for everyone (28%)

The quest for convenience is a two edged sword. In our quest for speed, efficiency and walking as little as possible, we strive to make life as simple as possible. It was not so log ago that business was done face to face; meetings and paper letters were how we communicated. Technology is no longer stand alone innovations. When Apple releases IPOD variations or innovations, it energizes many different corporations. They design and market accessories like cases, rechargers, car adaptors, docking stations and more.

A whole chain has been created. There are accessory makers, designers, advertisers, marketing gurus, and retailers. And for most, accessories fill the till better than the IPODs themselves as profit margins are greater. It is not a one way street where satellite industries reap all the goodies. With racks filled with add-ons for IPODS, marketing campaigns, reviews, and demos Apple benefits by the creation of the “ultimate” image of greatness. Lets fight the self-appointed Spam Lords
Lets get one thing clear - SPAM is very bad. Spam is demeaning, intrusive, frustrating, etc. However, the reaction to Spam is defeatist, Luditist, intrusive and reactionary.
Firstly, lets look at the reality of Spam; you download your emails, you delete the Spam.
Come on, are they that hard to identify? Is the email from Aunt Dot injured by the Spam? Do you have to spend hours reading each one to the bitter end to guess it is spam?
Email programmes come with a button called - DELETE; so delete - end of the matter. I hear you whinning: "but they take so long to download"; "they fill my inbox"; "they contain pornography", etc. One answer: Delete.
Actually, the porn Spam does present a bigger problem- for children of course, and the degree of insult they produce. To be honest, if your email is privacy protected, which it should be, then these problems can be partially avoided as well.
By the way, Spamhaus, a major Spam identifier, notes that 80% of Spam originates with just 20 groups.
So how does everyone suffer from over-reaction when dealing with Spam? How many genuine emails get blocked by Spam walls? I will use some examples of personal experience to show you the problems.
I have had important emails blocked just because I used an ISP that one of the 20 gangs had used for a period. This ISP was actually the major telephone service for a country, one that about 50% of the country's residents used. Great response: close half a country's international emails.
I have had emails blocked because I used the word, 'free'. My project, is a free resource on the Internet. Now I cannot say free, and hundreds of schools write to me to ask if my Project is free. I have also had emails blocked because I said, "For adults working with children"; NO adults, obviously pornography.
A professor at a University asked me about my Project; he was considering doing research with me, but I could not reply to him: intrusive Spam wall.
How many international websites today do not include any email contact details, or go to great lengths to hide them? What is the point of a website if you cannot respond and communicate with the owner? Am I expected to make international phone calls, send letters, snail mail?
I can go on. The bottom line is that our fears of using a delete button have allowed us to start to lose one of the great technology innovations of this era: email.
Email is better than great: it is better than landing on the moon. How did we live without email? This amazing technology is being murdered by ourselves and our ridiculous, stupid over-reaction.

Why we Need to Take Risks

Help For Joomla! Users: The XML Setup File Error Message – Upload Failed
The content management system known as Joomla! is a powerful and versatile software system that will not only become increasingly popular, but will become more usable as program developers create more and more extensions. However, not all software additions are always flawlessly easy to install, especially in their first releases. If you are a newcomer to Joomla!, and if you have tried to add on any extensions to the basic Joomla 1.0.10 software, you may have encountered an error message when using the Joomla! installer to try to install new components, modules, or mambots (via a zip file). The error messages that we have seen have included the following kinds of text messages: "Upload mambot - Upload Failed ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package Upload mambot - Failed" or "Upload mambot - Failed XML setup file is not for a mambot." For example, at one of our Joomla websites, we initially had trouble trying to install these 4 file downloads: com_performs v1, com_pollxt, docmanV13_RC_2, and mod_adsense_joomlaspan_2[1].0_C, which we obtained through browsing the extensions offered at the http://Joomla.org website. After some web research and our own trial and error process, we discovered some easy installation solutions that solved our problems, but we cannot guarantee these will work for everyone. We worked with the latest version, Joomla 1.0.10.
First, pay attention to the menu options under which you are trying to install these. If the file begins with a "mod", then under the Installer tab click on "modules" (not mambots or components). If it begins with a "com", then try the components option under the Installer tab. If it does not give you a clue in the file name, you can just try all three options to see if one works, or go back to the Joomla extensions page and check to see how it is listed--as a mambot, module, or component.
Second, some of the extensions need to have the initial zip file (exactly as you downloaded it) uploaded via the installer. Traffic is the key right? The more targeted the traffic the better right? And how do you get traffic? So the testing is always going on and those who are good at seeing the trends and predicting changes are able to stay successful in their field. One must remember though that despite all of these changes, there is nothing changing the way a customer searches for his interests on the internet.
So before you worry about all the complicated criteria you must target your content to the appropriate keywords. There are many tools that help you to research keywords, and many are free. Basically you are looking for keywords that are searched for the most that describe your product or the market your product is included in well enough that people who come to your page through that search will agree that you have what they were looking for. How to Meet that Special Someone
Chances are unless you are very lucky you will go thru many different relationships before you find your special someone. Finding your sole mate is like gambling. In poker and blackjack you may have to play dozens of hands until you get a winning hand, and it is the same with relationships.
During your life you will probably meet some people who seem like they may be the one, or that they are close, but still have the feeling that something else is missing. My advice is that if you are not happy, because something seems like it is missing, then it usually is not right.
Before I found my special someone, I was in a relationship for over 10 years, and I thought everything was great, until I started to seriously consider getting married. Then I noticed that we had so little in common and in reality wanted so many different things out of life and one day we both realized there was much about each of us that we both wanted from someone, but it was not us that we wanted.
Then one day I decided I had enough of trying to go to clubs and bars to meet people. I was sick and tired of trying to find someone in the time it takes to finish a drink. It always seemed the ladies I would meet were all wrong for me, or they seemed great after talking to them for 5 minutes but they seemed to have no interest in me.
Then one day I had an idea, it was not an original idea but I decided to use the internet to try to find the right person for me. So I proceeded to make a myspace profile. On this page I tried to put the real me and not the funny guy trying to be charming that was looking for love at the bar.
And as I would at the poker rooms I went all in, I poured my heart and sole into this. I wrote what I wanted and wrote down who I truly think I am and not who I want to be, and I was rewarded by 1 email responding to my site.
