How Gambling Horoscopes Help you Win

Many people believe that by using astrology you can tell your future, and maybe it can not, but by following the advice given in Horoscopes many people find great luck, so how else can it be explained.

This phenomenon can be explained by the fact that if you believe it is true that you will have good luck on a certain day you probably will.

This does not mean that the prediction was right, but if you believe good things are going to happen to you at work, in your personal life or in a casino, you will give off a positive energy that attracts other positive energies and this will help good things happen.

Some people do not believe this theory either. They feel that if you believe good things are going to happen and they do it is because you were in a better mood and making better decisions which will bring about better results.

No one can tell how exactly gambling horoscopes help a person win in a casino, but the fact remains that they do help people win all the time.

Studies have been done to try to show exactly how horoscopes work, but no one has ever been able to come up with an explanation that seems believable. All they have been able to show is that the more you believe the better and more accurate the predictions will be.

This may be because if you really believe in the accuracy of the gambling Horoscope you will find things that you rationalize to make fit into the horoscopes prediction.

No one has ever been able to find any reason any form of prognosticating works, but people do believe in it and it is that belief in it that seems to make the things come true.

Studies have been done in the past and have proven beyond doubt that a person who has a more positive outlook will tend to have better luck and will generally be a happier person; where as a person with a negative outlook will constantly have negative events take place around them.

The only explanation scientists have ever given for this is to say that the average human only uses 10% of the brain and that the explanation for these events is hidden in the 90% of the brain we do not use, and that maybe if and when we learn the secrete for unlocking these areas of the brain we will then be able to get a better understanding of how all types of psychic predictions work.

But until then all I can tell you is that if you believe that the prediction will come true then it will come true.

By reading your horoscope and waiting until it says you will have a good day, then going to the casino to do some gambling you will greatly increase your chances of having a winning day and the more you believe it will happen the more it increases your chances of being successful.

Online Scams: How To Avoid Getting Fooled

Beware of the three ways of getting fooled into giving up your money through seemingly innocent money-making schemes. Scams are all around us and it can be found in every single area of life, but more so in such areas where the risk is greater such as when dealing with credit cards, bank accounts and other activities which involve sending or receiving money online.

The Bank/Credit Card Email Scam:
If you get an email asking you to sign up to your bank account or credit card through the email because your privacy is under danger or just to receive a free gift or something: BEWARE! Do not sign up through the internet address provided in the email. If the email does make you anxious, go to the bank or credit card site using the address you know already or through searching the search engines.
How Does This Scam Work?
The senders of the email know that only a very few will sign up but that is all they need. When you signed up to the bogus internet address, they got your user and password. Now its time for them to party!

The Missing Millionaire Scam:
If you receive an email saying that they represent a dead or missing former ruler, high-ranking official or businessman from an African, Gulf or even Russian: BEWARE! They offer you a chance to earn anything between one to five percent of ten to fifty million. And for your co-operation only. Don't get sucked into this, for though they speak of giving you money, they will receive cash and from your account.
How Does This Scam Work?
They will ask you for your bank details in order to transfer the cash and then they will use that to transfer a small amount. Now, once you trust them, they will ask you for more personal and secure details because they "need" that to transfer the entire sum in and out of your account. What they won't tell you is that they will transfer all the money out from your account: theirs and yours.

The Make Money Fast Scam:
This is the most innocent of the lot, but that is also why it is the most dangerous. These are so-called companies that advertise that if you only sign up and use their system, you will mint money. Please do not fall for such schemes. They will pay you some money but then once trust is built, they will fleece your bank account. Remember that quick money scams are the surest and fastest way to lose all your money!

Conclusion:
Whatever you do online, always remember that the internet is not a safe place. Treat it like you would treat any other business venture and bring up your guard. If you play it safe and check out the companies before committing, you will be able to guard yourself against losing money to crooks.

Life Advice: Looking Through a Window

Living in today's metropolitan world of cellular phones, mobile computers and other high-tech gadgets is not just hectic but very impersonal. We make money and then invest our time and effort in making more money. Does it end? Not usually because we are never satisfied. How many times have we convinced ourselves that if only we had some more money, life would be so sweet? But then, after receiving a substantial raise, we realize that it wasn't enough and that we need more?

What Should You Do?
I have read many books on life such as Robin Sharma's Monk says this and the monk says that, and they all seem to say that money is not necessary. But it is. Can you do without cash and a lot of it? I know I can't.

So, I went to the neighbourhood Rabbi and asked for advice that will help me find my true way in life.

The rabbi nodded and took me to the window. "What do you see?" he asked me.

Promptly, I answered, "I can see people walking to and fro and a blind man is begging for alms at the left corner."

The Rabbi nodded and guided me to a big mirror. "Now look and tell me what you see?"

"I can see myself," I man answered.

The Rabbi smiled. "Now you can't see anyone else. The mirror and the window are both created from the same raw material: glass, but because on one of them they have applied a thin layer of silver, when you look at it all you can see is your own reflection."

The Rabbi placed his arm on my shoulders. "Compare yourself to those two pieces of glass. Without the silver layer, you saw the other people and felt compassion for them. When you are covered with silver, you see only yourself."

I looked at the Rabbi and stared. "I don't understand."

The Rabbi continued. "You will become someone only if have the courage to remove the silver covering over your eyes in order to again see and love others." He patted me on my back and sent me on my way.

I have thought of what he said and come to the conclusion that he had a point. Yes. We need money and we should not aim to lead a moneyless existence; its pointless and will only cause us and our families many heartbreaks in the future.

Instead, I suggest that we should follow the advice the Rabbi gave me. When we approach life through a silver covering, all we are able to see is ourselves. But discard that covering, and you will be able to see and feel everyone else.

Conclusion:
In life, we are allowed to and should be able to look at both kinds of mirrors, but we should remember that a mirror reflects only us; a window is the door to compassion, health and true wealth. In other words, seek wealth by all means, but don't let it dissuade you from life, people, children and the poor and needy.

The Blessing Of Online Dictionaries

I have a job that requires me to be at the computer all day and quite often using the internet. I love my job (except for having to sit down all day) because I am constantly amazed by the world that the internet opens up to me. I cannot believe how much there is to be learned and explored through the internet. There are literally endless possibilities of pages to search and topics to learn about online. I love that I can be writing about almost anything and do a search for any word or phrase or idea that I'm curious about. Within seconds hundreds of thousands of websites pop up that match the very thing I am curious about. Online dictionaries have become some of my favorite things during this process.

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved dictionaries. I have owned a dictionary since elementary school and I love randomly flipping through the pages to see if I can learn a new word and a new definition. I never imagined that I would have access to as many dictionaries as I wanted when I began working online. I cannot tell you what a great day it was when I discovered the blessing that online dictionaries are for people like me who need words or their definitions fast.

If I have learned one thing about the internet in my years of using it for work, it has been that the internet has the potential to be used for good or for bad. There are countless numbers of websites that contain nothing but useless trash, yet there are another host of websites that contain so much worth while and worthy information. Online dictionaries are some of the noble things contained on the internet that actually have value for people.

The great thing about online dictionaries is that you can look up a word or its meaning almost instantly. You do not need to move away from your computer or stop what you are doing. There is no need to leave your desk and find an old dictionary laying around the house or office. An online dictionary is just a click away.

Another thing I have grown to love about online dictionaries is that they are filled with all of the lastest information and with all the terms of our modern age. Any kind of computer or techonology term is sure to be found in online dictionaries. This is really handy. So the next time you are online and you get curious about a word or a definition, don't fret, just click on to an online dictionary and learn all you
want to know.

How to Make a Living Online - and How Not To!

"I make a living online!"

That's a statement right? Right!

But is it a statement of fact?

Who knows?

Well, I do because I know it's true, but how do you know I'm telling the truth?

You don't of course. But there are some things you can look for that will help you decide.

How often have you seen something like:
"Make a ton of cash - now!
No selling
No MLM
No stock to buy
No customers to deal with
Join our upside-down, instant-cash matrix now and get rich!

It goes without saying that the above is dubious to say the least. Yet, many people fall for ads like this on a regular basis.

So, the old saying "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is", could be words of wisdom.

Golden Rule: Go with your gut feeling.

Let's get down to brass tacks (sorry about that, my parents are English and they talk in a strange tongue which rubs off on me sometimes).

Grade these statements:

1. Anyone can make a living online!
2. You don't need capital to start a business!
3. It's much cheaper to start a business online than in the 'real world'!
4. You don't need to sell products or services to make money online!
5. You can make money instantly online!

These are my thoughts on the above:
1, 3 & 4 - generally speaking, true.
2 & 5 - generally speaking, false.
An observation about 1 above is to make a distinction between 'making money' and 'earning a living'. The former could be a one-off 5 cents, while the latter could need to be $100 per day, depending, of course on individual requirements.

My dad often say's; "you don't get owt for nowt!"

Translated into American English it means; "there's no such thing as a free lunch!"

Never invest in an opportunity that you are not sure about. Instead, find something that you are interested in and will enjoy doing. In other words; do what you like doing, and the money will follow.

"Okay Adam", I hear you say, "get to the point".

The point is this:
If you expect to make a living online without doing any work and without spending any cash upfront, go get a 'proper' job instead - preferably one that allows you to daydream a lot.

Hwever, if you're prepared to spend some time, researching, listening & learning and have allocated some kind of budget (we're not talking megabucks here), then it's perfectly feasible to make a living online.

I started an enterprise about seven months ago with $300 and it's now earning me $500 per month residual income and growing. It took some hard work and a steep learning curve at first but now it's got into gear and I could virtually leave it alone to keep increasing month on month.

The Internet is a fantastic source of information - it's up to you to find that information and decide whether it's worth using or just more 'pie in the sky'.

Hate To Sell? Design Your Business So You Don't Have To

Owning your own business can have tremendous benefits. You can experience the joy of being your own boss, setting your own hours, working from home, and earning just as much as you want.

But with all that freedom comes a few challenges. If you've already worked a home-based business, you know what they are. A dislike for selling tops the list for millions who start their own business.

"I really believe in my product," Maria says. "But I hate trying to sell it to complete strangers. Often they aren't interested and the rejection makes me want to give up on the business."

These days it isn't necessary to like to sell or even know how to sell. Automated systems are taking over all the selling and prospecting duties.

Here's how this highly automated system works. Advanced search engine marketing automatically pulls thousands of prospects to state of the art web sites. Keep in mind, these are TARGETED prospects. They aren't just anybody, but are mostly those who are actively interested in your product or service.

Then a pro sales team talks with each prospect. This keeps YOU from having to talk on the phone with customers. The sales team answers all the prospect's questions and quickly finds out if the prospect is qualified to buy your product or service.

Then the prospect, already sold and ready to buy, is delivered to you. You simply get up in the morning and check to see how much you've sold -- that's it!

But what if you don't already have a product or service? That's no problem. This automated system is so hot that you can simply sell the system to others and earn thousands per week. That's right -- THOUSANDS per week.

With that kind of big money, you may be looking at home-based business in a new light. Use your automated home business to augment your income, pay off bills, expand your budget to afford nice cars or a better place to live, even retire early.

Or make your home business your full-time career. Think of all the options you'll have in life when you only work a few hours to a few minutes per day. You can get up when you like, get dressed when you like, never have to commute, and spend just as much time as you want with those you love.

Clearly, automation and out-sourced selling is turning home-based business into the new "dream job." Get on board while this exciting trend is hot.

How to Start Your Own Small Business

Opening your own business can be a real big gamble. If you do not do your research well, you will wind up like most small businesses, and that is out of business in less then 6 months.

The most important thing to remember when opening up new business is the location. When doing your research for your new business you want to make sure you are the only business of your time in the area. If you are opening a video store you do not want to open near another video store. Remember if you are exclusive to the area, you will automatically get the business of those living in that area.

The next most important thing about opening a small business is you supplier. Do not have just one place to get supplies from, you should have several. By having more then one you can assure yourself that you are getting the lowest prices from them. And if they know about each other they will try to outdo each other to get your business.

Make sure that the products or services that you will be offering are desired, do not just decide to open up a store with out doing any market research is like playing craps, dangerous unless you really know what you are doing.

Advertising is important. Remember just like a casino you are trying to make money and not lose it. By spending some money on advertising you will increase your sales from your opening day. It is best to have a professional help you with your advertising rather then dong it yourself, there is no point in spending money on advertising if no one in your target demographic is going to see it. An example of this would be like using facial expressions to bluff in a poker game against blind players.

When picking your stock it is sometime better to have a better selection of items and maybe not so many of each item, this way you can see which items sell best and order more of those more popular items, and less of the less desired ones.

In business you should not try to open a business unless you already have experience running a related business. You may think you know how to, but to do it correctly you really need experience, after all if you were in a casino and looking to play poker you would not want a roulette dealer who is trying to figure out the rules as he goes would you? Chances are you would want an experienced poker dealer.

Depending on the type of business you are opening try keep your staff as small as possible, and if it is possible try to get friends and family to help you out. This will allow you to keep your costs low until you can really get a good idea of if you are making money or not. Once you are making money you can go out and hire people.

Gmail

Advantages: huge storage capacity, very fast, in-mail chat, searchable
Disadvantages: none

When Gmail first came out, people were scrambling left and right to get invites to open their own accounts. The word was out – Google had come out with the best free web-based mail. There were all sorts of hype as to what Gmail had to offer. Very large storage space, filters, labels, searching, no need to delete old emails – all these and more. Now that Gmail has been around for some time, it is safe to say that Google lived up to its promises. Countless people who used to have email accounts with other free web-based email services have had a change of heart and switched to Gmail. Even though you still need an invite to open an account, there are so many invites available that it is not an issue anymore.

Next to the much-hyped up storage capacity, usability is what makes Gmail the best. My favorite new feature is not even about email! Recently, they introduced the Gmail Chat. It is a feature which allows you to chat live with your contacts within the Gmail window. Gmail contacts from your address book are automatically added to your chat contact list on the left hand column. Much like any messenger service, you can see whether they are online or offline. You can even put your own status message. One thing that seems missing is the “invisible” option.

Another thing is that when you are logged out, you cannot receive offline messages. Of course, Gmail is about email really, not chatting.

Speaking of email, one of Gmail’s main selling points is that you never have to delete old emails again. Just tag them, label them, and then archive them. Using Google’s searching capabilities, you can find any email that you have in your archives. Now isn’t that neat?

When you exchange a series of emails with another person, you will get each mail under the same thread. This is much like the threads in forums. The result? You avoid cluttering up your inbox with emails with subjects such as Re:Re:Re:! However, this can be annoying to people who do not use Gmail as they will get a long thread each time.

I also like how much easier it is to view and download attachments. You can even choose to download all attachments in one go. They will be saved in one zip file.

With all these features, it’s no wonder many other email providers are following Google’s example.

Online Holiday Shopping Sales Meet Record Breaking Expectations

As the dollar figures pour in and the numbers are tabulated and with business analysts predicting a record breaking online holiday shopping season, it appears the projections were right on target.

Although the final holiday shopping sales figures aren't in yet, preliminary reports from a wide spectrum of sources point to online sales that have met expectations and will make e-tailers, large and small, very satisfied with the results.

According to comScore, the latest "2005 Online Holiday Shopping Update" reflects that non-travel spending for the first 46 days of the holiday season (November 1-December 16) totaled 15.86 billion dollars. This represents a 23% increase over the same period in 2004. In addition, comScore estimates that U.S. Internet sales will exceed 19 billion dollars (excluding travel) for the holiday season, an increase of 24% above 2004 sales figures.

What were the best selling days during this online shopping period? What were the sales for the highly anticipated "Black Monday"?

The results are in and surprisingly, Monday, November 28 (Black Monday) ranked ninth in a listing of the top ten non-travel online holiday shopping spending days among U.S. home, work and university Internet users for the holiday shopping period of November 1-December 16, 2005, with online sales estimated at 484 million dollars.

The top selling day? So far, that distinction goes to Monday, December 12, 2005, with total sales of 556 million dollars. A close second was Tuesday, December 13, 2005, with sales of 554 million dollars and astonishingly these two days combined topped 1.1 billion dollars in online retail sales.

Furthermore, according to the latest "Holiday eSpending Report", (released by Goldman Sachs, Nielsen/Net Ratings and Harris Interactive), it is estimated that online shoppers spent 18.6 billion dollars during the first six weeks of the 2005 holiday season (October 29-December 9), a 16% increase for U.S. online spending compared to the same period in 2004.

To summarize, these preliminary reports offer a positive outlook for e-tailers as the e-commerce industry continues to evolve and prosper. Internet users are taking advantage of new web sites, specialty sites and shops, virtual online shopping malls, niche marketing and the holiday sales figures reflect this phenomenon.

How to Have a Great Time Gambling without Losing Your Money

Gambling in a casino or online casino is supposed to be for fun, but for many people the casino is the place where some machine eats all their money, and they are broke after the first hour and have to go to the ATM to get more money.

If you are not an experienced gambler it may be best to stick to the slot machines, but the fact is that the casinos make most of their money from those one armed bandits.

The easiest game in the casino is Roulette. The object of roulette is to guess what number the little ball will land on, which is not easy but there are other bets to make. In roulette you can bet on the color of the number the ball will land on, and since there are only 2 colors on the board it is a much safer bet. You can also bet on whether the ball will land on an even or odd number.

If you are not an expert gambler and just want to have a good time you can also play keno. Keno is much like the lottery. You have a card marked with numbers 1 to 100, and depending on the amount you want to spend and the game you play determines on how many of the number you get to pick. A computer picks the numbers and if you have at least 5 correct numbers you will win some of your money back.

I would recommend staying away from the poker rooms, but there is one poker game that is mostly newbie friendly, Red Dog Poker. The game is very simple to play. the dealer gives out 2 cards, and the player has to bet if the next card will fall in between the first 2, an example of this is you are dealt a 5 and a queen, so you have to bet on if the next card will be a 6 to a jack, the smaller the distance between the cards the more money you will win if you are right. If your cards are a 5 and a 9 and you win you will win less then if your cards were a 5 and a 7 and the next card is a 6. You may never become a millionaire from playing Red Dog Poker, but it is lots of fun and you can sit at the table for hours without spending much money, and it can be lots of fun.

One of my favorite things to do in the casinos or online sportsbooks is to play the horses. You do not need to be a genius or have been going to the track for years to pick a winner, all the information on the horse and jockey is displayed in an easy to understand way so you can have all the information you need to pick a winner, and for a few 2 dollar bets you can spend an entire evening in a casino or sportsbook for less then 50 dollars.

How To Rank Well In The Search Engines And Get Website Traffic

It is well worth your time to learn and apply a few basics to increase your web site's search engine rankings and consequently the amount of traffic to your website. These techniques are commonly referred to as SEO, or Search Engine Optimization.

Create a site with unique, valuable content, products or services.

Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.

Research and use the right keywords or key phrases to attract the type of customer that you wish to target.

Use your keywords in your site's Title, META tags, Headers, etc.

Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and purchase your products and services.

Submit your web pages to the search engines and directories. This means every web page, not just the home page. Hire someone to do this for you if necessary. For best results, perform manual submission. Don't use an automated submission service.

Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.

Keep an eye on your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing in respect to design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.

Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and how they found your website, whether from search engines or links from other sites, and the keywords they used to find you.

Make your customer visit easy and give them as many ways to remember you as you can in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons, etc.

Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.

When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.

When not sure, hire professionals. Paying their fees makes more sense than spending your money on a website which no one visits.

Don’t view your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location. The search engines like to see change and growth in your web pages and will reward you with better rankings.

How to Sell Your Website Quickly and For the Best Price

Dear Website Owner,

The process of selling a website or domain name can be demanding and time-intensive. Yet with some key tips the process can be made much more simpler and effective.

The first step you must do is determine the value of your website. There are many formulas for reaching a value. It's important to remember that the valuation of a website business differs from a traditional business and that this must be kept in mind when valuating your Internet business. One of the most important factors is website traffic. If a website has no traffic, it has no business.

Just as important are other variables that can affect the value of an Internet business. Information that cannot be gleaned from financial and traffic data -- such as the uniqueness of the business, the conditions of the market, the overall design, the customer experience of the website, and many others. These factors can cause a substantial variation of the value of up to 40% either way. Because of these factors, we recommend a professional appraisal of your website business. The business community spends over a billion dollars a year for outside business valuations. Not only does this give them important information for the day-to-day operations of their business, it proves invaluable for the sale of their business. Buyers are more likely to trust an independent appraisal as opposed to the seller's own judgment. The appraisal also allows you to avoid the mistake of either undervaluing or overvaluing your website.

The second step is marketing the website. By listing your website business with a third party such as BuySellAussieWebsite you can dramatically increase the chances of receiving the best offer in the shortest time span and is by far the most highly recommended.

When writing the listing for your business there are a few key points to remember. First, always try to list a price. It's fine to use OBO (or best offer) but be sure to list a price along with it. Also, be sure to list the net income (profit) and revenue of your website. Even if it's low it's still better than leaving the potential buyer in the dark. In fact, some buyers are looking for websites that are losing money so they can turn them around.

Secondly, try to include a phone number so potential buyers can contact you quickly. Finally, be sure to list anything that isn't obvious to the buyer that adds to the uniqueness of your business, such things as copyrighted works, email lists, and trademarks.

Finally you are ready to make the deal. Remember to be patient. If you have followed these basic fundamentals you can be confident that the sale will go as smoothly as possible.

Good Luck!

What is Zlob?

Zlob is the common name for the Zlob Trojan, also known as Trojan.Zlob. Zlob is a trojan style virus that is usually installed under the guise of a required ActiveX codec necessary to watch downloaded movies. Although it was first detected by malware protection firms in 2005, it did not gain publicity until 2006 when more and more people began to become infected by the trojan. Many sources currently believe that the Zlob trojan originated in Russia.

There are currently thirty two variants of the Zlob trojan, according to researchers at F-Secure. They range from highly malicious trojans which can redirect regular network traffic to Zlob owned servers, allowing a hacker to gain control of the information, user names, and passwords sent to websites to spam sites and popups designed to annoy users.

How does Zlob work?

The Zlob trojan actually has a fairly unique way of manifesting itself. Like all Windows viruses, the Zlob trojan needs to be downloaded and installed in order to take effect. Also, it uses social engineering in a unique way to get people to click on the required links to download itself to a person’s computer.

It was commonly found on malicious porn sites, where unknowing visitors would download the ActiveX codec which was “required” to display the movies on the site. The codec was actually the first stage of the Zlob trojan in disguise.

Once the trojan is installed, it will begin to display message boxes that are similar in appearance to the standard Window’s error message. These messages will tell the user that he needs to install an anti-spyware program, which he can get from the linked website. Upon downloading the “anti-spyware program”, the second stage of the Zlob trojan will be installed and activated.

The trojan will, once activated, be able to steal a variety of information from your computer. It may reroute your internet traffic to Zlob owned servers to harvest credit card information, or it may download other harmful code from the internet in an attempt to help other viruses spread. Variants have also been known to delete random files from users’ computers.

How can Zlob be removed?

There is no set way to remove the Zlob trojan, and it should be taken out of your computer the same way you would remove any other virus, trojan, or other malware. All of the modern anti-virus programs should be able to easily detect and remove the Zlob trojan without too much effort.

If you want to remove the virus yourself, there are a few steps that you must perform. First, boot into safe mode so that you can turn off the virus related programs before you attempt to remove them. Once in safe mode, you should look for the following applications: msmsgs.exe and nvctrl.exe.

It Started With A Click

Just at the time when the stress from her day job started to make Rosalind Gardner ill she first got interested in making money through an Internet business. In her own words she describes her early ventures as "just playing" yet within two years she quit her day job and is now earning over $400,000 a year.

How did she do it?

It all started with a click.

One evening in 1997 Rosalind was just playing on the Internet when a banner ad for "One and Only" dating service caught her attention. What was so interesting about it was that it was offering webmasters a chance to make money with their web sites. She felt compelled to find out more. What she didn’t know then was that this was just the first step in to a new career that would change her life forever.

She found out that what was on offer was a commission for any webmaster who could refer a paying customers to "One and Only". Today this kind of scheme is commonly called an "affiliate program". These schemes enable anyone to create a business promoting the products or services of a company. What make them so attractive is that there is no need to develop a product and get involved with stock, shipment or customer service.

After signing up to the program on offer Rosalind set about designing her own web site. Keeping the content simple, direct and honest she wrote a review of the dating service so visitors to her web site could quickly understand all that was involved - the benefits and special features but also the pitfalls. Keeping the review honest, she felt, would help build trust between her and her visitors. Also, as people would know all that's on offer, those who clicked through to the dating service would be most likely to sign up and earn Rosalind a commission.

The enterprise worked and today Rosalind Gardner is one of the most successful Internet marketers around. She has become a legend in the field of affiliate marketing and is a popular speaker at industry events. In addition she has become a writer and consultant on affiliate marketing, her articles appearing all over the Internet.

Pretty amazing considering that her highest education was two years in college and she admits "I had zero business experience when I started out. Nothing.. Nada. All I had was the desire to become my own boss, and huge motivation to make some big money."

And it all started with a click.

Your Internet business adventure could start with a click too. See www.ebiz-info.co.uk to find out how.

Organizing URLs 101

Every traffic exchange and program on the planet gives you a URL to promote. You may not be interested in promoting every one, but you may still want to have those URLs in a place that’s easy to find.

Why is that?

Well, if you belong to traffic exchanges, most of them have downline builders, right? So, even if you don’t belong to a dedicated downline builder, you’ll still need your usernames and affiliate links at some point and it’s great to have that information at your fingertips.

My solution is to build a table in Word or any other word processor with table-making capability. You need only two columns. The first column is for the program or traffic exchange’s name, and the second is for the affiliate URL.

I also list my banners in their respective blocks. However, when adding a banner, I color it blue. You can color it magenta. It doesn’t matter. Just so it sticks out as being different from the affiliate links.

Other URLs I might add for the same program might be shortcuts, as with TinyURL. Or tracking links, as with LinkBrander. And, I color them differently, too. You’ll be amazed at how big a difference coloring links is. It will save you lots of time in the long run. You won’t have to read the whole URL to see what it relates to, only choose the right color.

Beside these URLs, I often add descriptions. For instance, I belong to Marlon Sanders’ affiliate program, and he has umpteen products to sell. So, next to each of my affiliate URLs, I describe the product it relates to with a short keyword or two in parentheses.

You can type all of this information into your table in any order. When you've finished, click on the first column and then go to "Table" in the top toolbar and then, "Sort." Your programs and respective URLs will then be in alphabetical order, making finding your URLs very easy.

After your table is complete and sorted, save your document. Then, go to your Start menu, click the icon for My Documents and navigate to your table. Drag the icon for it to your desktop. Each time a program asks for a URL or you need one to plug into a traffic exchange for advertising or another for a downline builder, the link will be right at your fingertips. Voila!

I’ve been using this system for almost three years and it works very well for me. Try it. I hope it works well for you, too.

Web 2.0 Babble

The seeming collapse of cyberspace in 2001 became a point upon which web trends turned. People predicted the end of the cyber era. However, this is all part of a vicious technological cycle of peak trends and shakeouts. It is at this point, that real success is measured. And the development of Web 2.0 is just that. The concept began with the premise that contrary to speculations of web-crashing, the Web or the Internet is more promising and needed than ever. The steady rate of development, and coming out of new sites and programs are taken as signs of a stronger Web space. This was taken into consideration by MediaLive International and the O'Reily Team in developing the concept of Web 2.0. However, the passing years have tangled the meaning of the concept. Disagreements about its meaning added to the general mayhem. What exactly is Web 2.0, and how does it differ from the Internet of the past (Web 1.0)?

Their main difference is that Web 2.0 strives to make the web space more personalized and interactive. Whereas Web 1.0 uses static HTML, the 2.0 version offers blog publishing which is highly interactive and dynamic. Web 2. 0 also tries to un-complicate the web experience so even newbies won't feel intimidated by the many links and complicated web designs. As a result, Web 2.0 prioritizes navigability and simplicity in website design. Moreover, sites can be managed by several authors rather than an exclusive group of Internet professionals.

Personal sites are also out of Web 2.0 together with the guessing game that comes with domain names. Personal blogs wherein the owner can post whatever interests him is the "in" thing. Plus, blog readers can comment on whatever the writer wrote, thus, the experience is kept active and dynamic. In addition, SEOs also make it easy to find information and websites. With Web 2.0, cyberspace can live up to its tag as an info superhighway.Other innovations on Web 2.0 version are the use of syndication and folksonomy. With this new applications, directories are no longer needed. Plus, new infoware are in constant beta. Software are easily available in the Internet rather than sold as separate items. Web 2.0 is easier on the user as compared to the older version. This makes Web 2.0 a stronger, steadier, and wider space wherein everyone can find a niche for himself.

Video Comes To Web Sites, Blogs, Ipods -- How You Can Profit!

Surely you've noticed the enthusiastic talk lately about how easy it is to put video on your web site or blog. In the past you had to enlist the help of a professional producer to get even the most simplistic video on your site. That could cost several thousand dollars, and even then, most visitors would have a hard time viewing your video.

No more. Today's technology has leaped forward to make professional-looking video a reality for any site or blog. You can also easily deliver video to iPods and embeded in emails.

Imagine sending an email to a customer that includes a video that shows her how to use your product or service. Your sales conversion rate skyrockets!

Got valuable information people will pay to know? Create a video showing how to do the task, then sell pay-per-view opportunities to see your video. The technology to do this is simple, ready, and dirt cheap.

And you don't have to have fancy equipment or complicated training to use this stuff. It's all cheap or free, and you needn't do anything more than point and click your way through the user-friendly system.

Even more exciting than how you can use this new video technology to sell your current products and services, is how HUGE the opportunity is to make money on the massive social trend this video technology is unleashing.

Just take a moment to remember how instant messaging has taken over. Now millions of people worldwide check AIM and other IM accounts throughout the day to see who's online. Cell phone text messaging has also taken over in schools and offices worldwide.

Consider how vast the change will be when people can send personal videos to computers, iPods, and even cell phones. That technology is already available, and people worldwide are starting to jump on board.

You can already sign up to earn commissions when people start to use this technology. Just consider that MySpace has 62 million members and Friendster has 24 million members. The demand for technology that builds online communities is proven. The rush to incorporate video into this already established social trend will be the Net's next Gold Rush -- and it could easily dwarf what we've seen before.

The Seeds of Lasting Internet Profits for the Internet Novice

How can any internet novice make internet profits that continue? Well its simple how can any child learn the alphabet? All of it is learnt step by step, the first step being simply to start! Sounds a little odd to say that but it’s not because most of us have toyed with the idea of making money while we sleep or making money 24-7. How many of us actually have a website let alone an internet income stream? Not many!

When you start out you should do everything yourself! Your online business is nothing yet so you can’t pay someone for all the tech work out of your non-existent internet income stream! You will obviously need to have some time, commitment and little money to start. You need to buy and register a domain name get a hosting account then start to build a basic website.

If you don’t know how to you will need a basic education as to what needs to be done and how. Look at other websites for layouts and ideas, visualise what you want your website to look like and what you are actually going to sell or promote. There are various ways to learn how to get it started; 3 weeks ago I had no idea how to build a web page let alone a website now I own and am in the process of building (albeit slowly) four websites.

I haven’t got my own product yet, one day I may have one, that’s because I have decided to start tapping into one income stream by being an affiliate, that’s where you promote someone else’s products or sites for a commission for every customer they get through your site.

Building an internet business and making internet profits that last will require determination especially initially as you plant your seeds for future profit. The likes of Yahoo, MSN, and Google aren’t the top 3 visiting sites because of what they are doing now – remember it’s not long ago that there was no internet. Google floated on the stock exchange in 2004, the share price has more than tripled! Imagine - the work you do now for your website could result in your very own Google in 10 or 20 years time. Bringing you back down to earth again, you can’t make any profit from the internet without any traffic coming to your site!

Many of the things mentioned here can be learnt for free on various courses online. Without learning there can’t be much earning. So the tip for any internet newbie is to invest time and effort in a free practical course that gets you the basic knowledge and the continue seeking information to help build on that so that you can plant the seeds that create internet profits that last.

Once you have got ample amount of subscribers on list, you can offer your ad space for selling.

Once advertiser’s approaches you to buy your ad space, always keep in mind that your rate should be reasonable. There should be a balance between the demand & the supply of your advertising space. If there is a great demand for your ad space, you can of course increase your prices. But if there is not much demand, then you should always remain flexible about the rates of your ad space.

How to Feel Comfortable Joining in Online Discussions

There are literally hundreds of thousands of discussion groups online in which people partake every day. Everything from religion to politics to support groups are available on the Internet and you can join any of them. Most discussion groups require you to register, as this helps reduce the number of people who are only looking to start arguments (and there are plenty of them). Some even require authorization from a site administrator and may ask several questions about your intentions in the group. However, many people do register and never actually join in, spending their time lurking until giving up altogether. Feeling comfortable can be difficult, even when you're hiding behind a computer monitor.

Many new members of discussion forums find that the community seems very tight-knit and unwelcoming. Many people have been going to the same discussion forums for several years and have developed close bonds with other members. Some have even become close friends outside of the forum. This can be very intimidating for new members since there are often inside jokes and references to personal details. Joining new discussion groups can be just as stressful as trying to join a new circle of friends.

Making a good first impression is vital when you first join a discussion group. Many members may feel territorial about their online community and feel like they are being intruded upon when new members join. Spend some time looking around and getting a feel for the general atmosphere. If there is a welcome section, make sure your first post is a quick introduction of yourself. You don't need to divulge any personal information, just say hello and perhaps a few short lines on why you have joined.

Also try and avoid joining in on too many controversial topics right away. People may see you as being too aggressive and avoid your posts. Stick to lighter topics and try to stay away from appearing too opinionated. Once you have some posts under your belt other members will stop thinking of you as a newbie and you can be as open as you like.

Many new members of discussion forums leave after posting a few times, feeling that no one cares if they post or not. Give it some time and understand that some of the other members have known each other for years. Be patient and continue posting, and before you know it you'll feel like part of the gang.

Packaging For An Online Business

Have you ever waited with anticipation for that special something to show up in the mail only to receive a smashed box with broken pieces inside or liquid dripping out the sides? Packaging has always been a critical component of successful retail products. Packaging is also critical for successful products sold online. However, there are differences between the two types of packaging that should be considered. When a product is displayed in a retail store, it is competing with every other product on the shelf for the consumer’s attention. The boxes are normally shiny, multi-colored, and have foil stamping and embossing. The boxes seem to scream out, in a visual way, “Hey, look at me!” In online sales, the product is sold long before the consumer sees the packaging, but the packaging is still critical to creating a satisfied customer. Here are a few points to consider when choosing packaging for products that are sold online and shipped to the buyer.

Don’t spend too much on your packaging because it won’t be competing against one hundred other packages on the shelf of Wal-Mart or Best Buy. UV coatings, foil stamping, embossing, and other high cost packing enhancers are not needed.

Don’t spend too little on your packaging because it still needs to reflect the quality and value of the product inside. You can use one, two, or four color printing to enhance the package. Do make sure your packaging is sturdy enough to make it through the mail.

Make sure the package is crush proof. Some boxes require an inner structure made of cardboard, foam, or vacuum form plastic to keep them from crushing.

Test your packaging by sending five packages to a few people you know in different parts of the country or, for products that ship internationally, in the world. Have them send the products back to you. How did the packaging hold up? Does it still look good? Is it something you would feel good about receiving for yourself? Did the outer packaging protect the product? If there is any crushing, bad tearing, or product damage; rework your design and test again.

Don’t spend too little, don’t spend too much, test thoroughly, and your packaging will be just right.

WHAT! INTERNET ETIQUETTE – Net Etiquette?

Many people know how -- and do conduct themselves in the real world properly. However, many people are unaware that this same conduct needs to be applied online as well. Net etiquette is basically the rules you should follow while in Cyberspace. These seven rules are what I learned on my Cyber journey and what I try to follow while on the Internet – let’s see if you agree.

First and foremost, you must remember that even though you are sitting alone at your computer – and no one is replying, say to your blog, does not mean they are not lurking (reading and learning but not commenting). Translated, there are real people reading what you are writing – and if you make derogatory comments or accusations – they will be felt by that person. If you do make derogatory comments or accusations – please verify, verify, verify, verify – this is libel.

Second, be ethical – being ethical should not go out the door when you get into Cyberspace – what applies to offline business and personal conduct, applies to online business and personal conduct.

Third, if you go into a forum it is advisable to take the time to do some lurking before posting. Learn the ways of the forum before posting. Some forums will not tolerate any advertising – they are there to discuss their topic and to learn, and to share information.

Fourth, the Internet allows you anonymity, which means, you are not judged by the way you look or the clothing you wear. But you are judged on what you write – that is the only way in which people can make judgments on you and your character.

Fifth, when writing on the Internet, be sure to check your facts. Research and verify before getting on your soapbox – it can save you a lot of grief – loss creditability. Remember, your writing is their first impressions of you.

Sixth, be kind and do not use offense language.

Seventh, share your knowledge and be open to learning from others.

I would like to conclude by saying that the Internet is a vast international community of people, sharing ideas, experiences and knowledge. It is a great community, yes, there are some bad eggs, but the community is ever vigilant and will alert all to the bad eggs. While on the Internet, be aware of your conduct, for that is how the Internet knows who you are.

Internet Home Business's

Why so many people are interested in finding a way to make a living on the internet today...

and why so many more will begin trying in the future.

The Internet has become the information and service highway the forecasters predicted it would years ago. More people buy information and services on the Internet than any where else.

It is a $70 billion a year industry, and it continues to grow more every single day. It is estimated to reach trillions within 5 years. NOW is the time that will shape the future of ALL business, so you might as well GET-IN while the getting is still good.

The two biggest reasons why:

1. If you know what you are doing you can pretty much put your earnings on autopilot in a short period of time.

2. The initial investment it takes to start making significant recurring profit online is nowhere near the investment it takes to make money offline.

With all of the affordable and realistic passive income opportunities today that require no real education to be successful...

What does it take to be successful online?

Most Successtreneurs will tell you that they have achieved success online in one of two ways:

1. Trial and error

With so many programs GUARANTEEING small fortunes with the click of a button, the internet can be a jungle... a very dangerous and expensive one for someone that doesn't really know what they are doing.

Pretty soon they have bought so many BS programs, getting disappointed day after day... hour after hour... over and over again.

After a while they just kind of "figure things out" for themselves, and eventually learn how to research the internet correctly for legitimate ways to make money.

The problem is that so many people never "figure things out" and go back to their offline job forever, convinced that the whole internet is one big scam.

2. They were "taken by the hand."

Early on they met one or two people that they could ACTUALLY trust, who had more experience than them, that told them what NOT to do, and got them set up correctly to profit online.

Whether or not you have been around for awhile, or are new to this cutthroat internet

marketing world, it is important that you are familiar with some of the other "money making" programs floating around the internet.

Lots of money can be made.

You just have to find the right program.

What is a Web Directory?

Do you have a website and are looking for more traffic? If so you don’t have to despair trying to figure out how you will direct traffic to your site because there is a tried and true way to increase your traffic in no time! The best method to get more traffic is with one way links. You may have heard of reciprocal links in the past, but that requires you to host a link on your site as well. With one way links there is a link to your site, but you don’t have to host a link as well! You might be wondering how you can possibly get other sites to host a link to your site without you having to host a link back, but fortunately it is not only possible but really easy with web directories!

One Way Links and Web Directories

Website directories are simply directories that focus on compiling links to other websites and then categorizing them. There are thousands of web directories on the Web that will allow you as a website owner to submit your website information and link to have included in the web directory. Then, a human will review the submission to approve it for the web directory. Then, your site will have a new one way link in the web directory that will help you reach more people and ultimately get more traffic. Since there are so many web directories you can spend a lot of time submitting your information in order to receive those important one way links. Or else you could hire someone to do it for you. Amazingly, there are many online companies that focus on submitting your link to website directories and since they already know the web directories and how to go about the process they can do it fast and cheap!

Since there are so many directories out there and you want as many links as possible then this might be the best bet for you. Trying to link your site with all of the web directories on the web will take a lot of your time and you won’t be able to focus on other projects or business. Of course, if you have a lot of free time then you can visit all of the web directories you want to submit your website to get a one way link. That is completely up to you, just know there are companies that offer this service for a very reasonable rate.

Some of the most famous web directories are Yahoo! Directory, Open Directory Project, as well as LookSmart, so you will want to start with these. Of course, there are plenty of other web directories to choose from and you might need to do a little online research to figure out which ones are best. Just remember, if you want more traffic for your website start placing some one way links to your site in web directories and watch the visitors come.

The Online Shopping Revolution

As no doubt you have noticed online shopping is becoming more and more popular. In this article I write about this new revolution and discuss whether in my opinion this popularity is likely to continue or even increase, or if it is just some sort of short term fashion trend.

I was introduced to online shopping a few years ago when a friend of mine advised me that a certain electrical type company was offering their products with a discount of ten percent, when they were purchased online. This fascinated me and I then started to investigate if this was a trend which other retail outlets were offering. I found that quite a few others had similar online discounts and I soon started to catch the online shopping bug.

As a man I am not really one for shopping. I am not trying to suggest that all men hate shopping but I certainly do. When my wife wants to go on one of her trips to all of the local clothes and other shops, I do go with her and attempt to show an interest but in truth can not wait to get home. When buying items such as clothes for myself, I of course prefer to buy online. This is where online shopping become a dream for me.

A couple of years ago at Christmas time, I must admit that I purchased around eighty percent of my presents online. This saved me having to go to the shops in the first place, fighting through the Christmas shopping crowds and trying to find a car park space.

My family even now buy our weekly food shopping online. My wife prefers doing the food shopping in this way as she does not have to wait to have her items scanned and does not have to put up with the children asking if they can have this or that.

I believe that this online shopping revolution has only just started. I think that more and more companies are going to offer this service and that their websites will become even more impressive and easy to use for the consumer. People especially women will always love to go shopping but I think for certain goods, for example larger and more expensive items, that they will be mainly bought online.

In around five years time most households in the UK will have access to the internet therefore introducing even more potential customers to the option of online shopping.

My life has certainly been made a lot easier and less stressful through online shopping and I would advise other people to give it a go.

The basics of paid surveys

Why do companies conduct surveys? To top it, why do companies pay for participating in a survey? This small write-up will help you understand the basics of survey and the paid form of surveys.

Survey is nothing but data or information collection. This information is processed to arrive at a useful conclusion. This useful conclusion may be in the form of new product or better customer service or larger distribution network. All of this is done to enhance customer satisfaction about a product. Surveys are essentially statistical in nature. The non-statistical approach to people's opinion is termed focus group interviews. Focus group interviews hover around qualitative aspects of people's opinion about a product. Surveys are conducted over a large number of people against very few in case of focus group interviews.
Person participating in a survey is called respondent. Questions are asked her regarding her perception about a product. Surveys try to understand overall perception of the population based on the responses of the people surveyed. The group of people surveyed is called sample.

The findings from the sample are treated to be as though these have come from the whole population. For example, survey about new features in a car will have only couple of thousands of respondents across the country. However, the aggregate response from these couple of thousand of people will be treated as if it had come from the whole car owners’ population in the country.

Surveys are conducted in various ways - paper, email, snail mail, telephone and online. While each has its own set of pro's and con's, paper surveys have been most popular in the past. With so many surveys being conducted by as many companies, participants have started losing interest and involvement in the process. This has offered the impetus to online surveys where people can fill the questionnaire in their leisure time, and can even think of skipping some. There is no obligation and necessity to complete the surveys. The large number of surveys has discouraged people from participating in surveys. This reason alone has resulted into offering incentives to people to participate in surveys. This is where the story of paid surveys start. paid surveys are voluntary in nature - you need not take part in each and every survey. If you qualify, you are paid for taking part. This is a win-win situation for all the three - participant, research agency and the company for whom survey is being conducted.

Getting Googly - A Quick Introduction To Google Adwords

You have most likely seen Google AdWords, even if you don’t realize it. It’s that list of sponsored links that runs down the right side of your computer screen when you Google a word. You’ll often see links at the top in a little blue box as well—we’ve all seen ‘em.

So what is Google AdWords?

Google Adwords is simply an online advertising solution that companies who have a web presence can use to drive more traffic to their site.

At-a-glance:

1. Google sells the space along the top and sides of their search engines to site owners interested in getting more exposure.

2. Site owners bid on keyword(s) that relate to what they have to offer.

3. When people perform a search on Google using that keyword(s), the site owners’ ads display as text-links in a column next to the organic results.

How Will Google Position Your Ad?

One of the things that set Google AdWords apart from their competitors is the way they rank their sponsored ads. Most search engines let you bid on keywords. He who bids the most per click “wins” the top spot. Period.

With AdWords, the amount you bid is only one factor. Google also takes into account the relevance of the text in your ad and the number of times your ad is clicked on and gives you a “quality score.” If your quality score is high enough, you can actually bump off the guy above you who pays more per click, but whose ad gets clicked on significantly less than yours!

Writing Effective Ads for Google

Frank Travisano, president of http://Linkateer.com, a leading Search Engine Optimization company says that when you are writing an ad for Google, “selecting the right keywords is critical.” Since you are paying each time someone clicks on your ad you don’t want a lot of misguided shoppers visiting your site and running up your tab.

Travisano advises, “Target your market as specifically as you can.” In other words, if you have a pet food store that offers organic, all-natural pet food; advertising for “pet” or “pet food” is not necessarily focusing on your target audience. Your target is consumers who are looking for all-natural, organic pet food. So your keywords need to reflect this.

Search Engine Marketing – Its all about ROI

For any business to succeed, it is important to understand the Return on Investment the owner is getting. It is basically the profit or turnover being made by them at the end of the day vis a vie the amount invested in the same. This rule applies to every aspect of our life. When we go to college to study, we look for high marks which will assure us a good job. While talking about web portals, they too keep close watch on what their ROI is when investing and creating the website. This is because, every investment needs to yield results for it to be effective, else the approach needs to be altered.

Search engine marketing must take into account the two operational methods – using Search engine optimization (SEO) or pay per click management system. Optimization will work better in the long run, whereas pay per click is mainly to draw specific bracket of traffic onto the site and this works only for a short time. All efforts taken by way of investment and links will go to waste if there is not much of traffic to your portal.

Pay per click works by having the user post as many ads on their page, or posting links on other pages. If a person surfing the net comes across these ads, and clicks on them, the owner will get revenue based on the terms mentioned by the pay per click service provider. The ads placed need to be such that they draw attention to your page and keep the user captivated. It is not that you are spending about $5 on the clicks and the person who comes over to your page and leaves, with no return. Sometimes even by running AdSense on your page, you might find the search engine throws up your page on the results page only if the ad is on the related page and nowhere else.

On the other hand Search engine marketing by using Search engine optimization will yield higher ROI with its effectiveness. While using SEO rich words, make sure to consider the entire content of your site and focus on internet marketing. This will work out better since you know what a person is likely to look for, that will draw them to your site.
